The Village Playspace is a play space for kids (0-6) to freely explore, learn, and create their own adventures. Every toy and play structure is carefully curated to support the development of children ages 0-6. The play space offers a mix of imagination play, climbing structures, sensory play and an area for messy crafts. In addition to providing a space for the kids, we want to bring parents together in the same life stage, to form today’s version of “The Village”, swapping parenting hacks, and hopefully, creating life-long friendships.
We opened our doors in June 2023 and we are ready to expand our team. At The Village Playspace, we believe the best work feels a little like play. We’re always looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and kind people who love working with children and making families feel at home.

Birthday Party & Event Coordinator (Part-Time)
The Village Playspace is looking for a fun, responsible, and energetic Birthday Party Coordinator to join our team! This is a great opportunity for a high school or college student who loves working with kids, enjoys creating memorable experiences, and wants to build real-world experience in customer service, event coordination, and childcare.
What You'll Do
Help set up and break down birthday parties and private events
Welcome birthday families and their guests with a warm, friendly attitude
Help families throughout the party to make sure everything runs smoothly
Assist with activities, crafts, games, and play
Keep the playspace, party area, and supplies clean and organized
Help serve food, drinks, and cake when needed
Monitor the party area and help maintain a safe, positive environment
Restock supplies and help with end-of-party cleanup
Communicate with parents and the Village Playspace team throughout the event
Be ready to jump in wherever you're needed—no two parties are exactly alike!
What We're Looking For
You don't need years of experience—we're looking for someone who is:
Reliable and punctual—especially when it comes to weekend shifts
Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with adults and kids
Energetic and genuinely enjoys being around children
Responsible and able to follow directions
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes messy environment
A team player who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty
Organized and able to multitask
Positive, enthusiastic, and professional
Comfortable interacting with families and representing The Village Playspace
Childcare, babysitting, camp, school, retail, restaurant, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
Schedule
Part-time | Primarily weekends
Birthday parties are typically held on Saturdays and Sundays, so weekend availability is required. Shifts are in 3 - 6 hour increments, typically from 9 - 12PM, 12 - 3PM, 3-6 PM. Occasional weekday shifts or special events may also be available. Ability to drive for offsite events is a plus!
This position is ideal for a high school student, college student, or anyone looking for flexible weekend work.
Salary range: $15 - $20/hr plus tips
Tips range from $20 - $200 per party

Teacher’s Assistant — Part-Time
Medford, MA
Wednesdays, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
The Village Playspace is looking for a fun, reliable, and enthusiastic Teacher’s Assistant to join our team! This is a great opportunity for a college/graduate student or recent graduated who loves working with young children and wants hands-on experience in a playful, nurturing environment.
What You’ll Do
Assist the lead teacher with classroom activities and lessons
Help set up and clean up before and after class
Engage with children through play, crafts, music, movement, and learning activities
Help children transition between activities and routines
Support a safe, welcoming, and positive classroom environment
Help prep classroom materials and keep play areas clean, organized and sanitized
Assist with snack time, bathroom breaks, and other classroom routines as needed
Greet families, check in children and help create a warm, welcoming experience
Jump in wherever needed to support the teacher and classroom
Assist with taking photos and emails to recap the day for families
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
Reliable, punctual, and responsible
Patient, kind, and enthusiastic around young children ages 18 months - 3 years old
Comfortable getting down on the floor and joining in the fun
A team player who takes direction well and extra plus for someone who
Energetic and able to keep up with active toddlers and preschoolers
Organized and willing to help with both teaching and cleanup
Friendly and professional when interacting with families
Babysitting, childcare, camp, education, or classroom experience is a plus, but not required.
Schedule
Wednesdays, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM — Required
This is a consistent weekly position and requires availability for the full Wednesday morning shift. Additional hours may be available for special events, holiday/vacation camps, or other programs.

Camp Assistant — Seasonal
Medford, MA
Seasonal/holidays 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
The Village Playspace is looking for a fun, reliable, and enthusiastic Camp Assistants to join our team! Our Seasonal Camp Assistants help create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for children ages 2–8 year during school holidays, long breaks, and summer camp.
What You’ll Do
Help welcome children during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up
Support campers throughout the day with play, activities, crafts, games, and movement
Engage with children ages 2–8 and help them feel comfortable in a new environment
Assist with transitions between activities, snack time, bathroom breaks, and other daily routines
Help supervise children and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
Set up and clean up activities, classrooms, and play areas
Help keep supplies, toys, and materials organized
Support the lead teachers and camp team wherever needed
Help make each camper’s day fun, engaging, and memorable
Communicate with parents and caregivers in a friendly and professional manner
Assist with taking photos and emails to recap the day for families
What We’re Looking For

This position is designed around holidays, long school breaks, and summer camp, making it especially great for local college students and students who return home during long breaks and are looking for flexible seasonal work.
